Stuart - Once known as Potsdam, early settlers renamed the area "Stuart" in 1895 to honor business tycoon Homer Stuart. Pinpointed among the many viable communities along theTreasure Coast as the "Sailfish Capital of the World," numerous sports fisherman flock to the area in search of the coveted sailfish and other sport fish living in local waters. The Stuart area continues to grow as home buyers are lured to its enticing climate and booming economy. Palm City - Situated in the western section of Martin County, Palm City remains unincorporated in spite of the fact that it has attracted thousands of new residents over recent years.
